   (Thanks to a generous benefactor)

I am delighted to have my niece, Ellen Morris, and my friend and fellow TEAM FOX member Amy Wong, join me and TEAM FOX in the 2014 New York City Marathon to raise funds for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Ellen's dad, Mike Morris, Amy and I ran the 2011 NYC Marathon for TEAM FOX.  This will be my 9th overall marathon and 4th since being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease; it will also be my last.  Amy is also a seasoned marathoner, running in her 6th total marathon and 3rd NYC marathon; she is running in honor of her mother who passed away in 2007. Ellen will be running her first marathon; she is a new young first time mother who ran Tough Mudder just a few months after the birth of her son. Both Amy and Ellen are busy with their young families and work;  I can not thank them enough for graciously donating their time and energy to tun the NYC Marathon to raise funds for TEAM FOX.

Thanks to all of you who have so given me encouragement and generously donated funds to for Parkinson's research.

Five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease - a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder. In the United States, 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure for Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's is a disease of the brain which is known for its motor symptoms such as tremors, rigidity, slowness, irregular movements and gait problems.  Parkinson's disease also results in many non-motor symptoms such as anxiety/depression and impairment of cognitive functions.
